Responsibilities: As a senior Uniface trainer I was required to conduct various training courses for Uniface versions 6 and 7. These included:
  • Application Development I and II
  • Application environment course
  • Using the UNIFACE Building Blocks package
Achievements: Conducted various Uniface training courses for internal Compuware staff. Modified course materials to suit American expectations

Technical Architect Uniface Building Blocks

Responsibilities: To produce the UNIFACE7 Building Blocks for the first release of UNIFACE7. This involved the design and development of an infrastructure that would help users of UNIFACE7 to fast track application development, with particular emphasis on
  • Application security issues
  • Naming standards
  • Programming guidelines
Environment: PC's running Win95, UNIFACE7, and the Solid DBMS version 2.0
Achievements: The team comprised of Jan Bank (Team Leader), John Ryff (programmer and database designer) and myself (application architect and programmer). This small team was augmented with an extra programmer from a local software house (December - March) and internal Uniface technical writers helped with the documentation.
  • Produced a set of naming standards and programming guidelines that ease program development
  • Designed and developed a highly generic and flexible approach to application development
  • Designed and developed various software utilities to support the new application design methods.
  • Designed and developed a software suite to manage security issues in Uniface applications
  • Produced a set of templates to ease development of non-modal forms within a Uniface application
